Terms of service

Last updated: September 25, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HaleHound website (halehound.com) and your purchase and use of any products sold by HaleHound LLC ("HaleHound," "we," "us," or "the seller"). By accessing this site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use this site or purchase our products.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase from this store. By placing an order you represent and warrant that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Nature of the Products

HaleHound designs and hand-builds multi-radio security research tools and related hardware, kits, cases, and accessories. These devices are intended for authorized penetration testing, security research, education, red team operations, and lawful radio-frequency (RF) experimentation. They are sold to security professionals, researchers, students, and hobbyists for legitimate purposes only.

3. Authorized Use Only

You may use our products only on networks, devices, radio systems, and property that you own or that you have explicit written authorization to test. You are solely responsible for obtaining any permission, license, or authorization required before operating any device. You agree that any use outside of these bounds is a violation of these Terms and may be a violation of law.

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree that you will not use, and will not permit any third party to use, any product to:

  • Access, disrupt, intercept, degrade, or interfere with any network, device, communication, or system without authorization;
  • Intercept, capture, record, or access communications or data you are not authorized to access;
  • Interfere with, degrade, or deny licensed or authorized radio, wireless, cellular, navigation, or emergency communications;
  • Commit, facilitate, or attempt any fraud, theft, harassment, stalking, surveillance, or other unlawful act;
  • Violate the privacy, property, or other rights of any person or entity;
  • Violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation.

5. Regulatory and Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for complying with all laws and regulations that apply to your purchase, possession, and use of our products, including without limitation:

  • United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and equivalent radio regulators in your country;
  • The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and equivalent computer-misuse laws;
  • Federal and state wiretap, eavesdropping, and electronic-communications-privacy laws;
  • All radio-transmission, spectrum, and power-limit laws in your jurisdiction;
  • All applicable export, re-export, and sanctions laws (see Section 10).

Laws vary by jurisdiction. Some functions our devices are capable of may not be lawful to perform, or lawful to transmit, everywhere. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you operate.

6. Radio-Frequency Operation

Our products can transmit and receive radio signals. Operating a transmitter may require a license and must stay within the frequency, power, and duty-cycle limits set by your local regulator. Deliberately interfering with, degrading, or denying authorized radio communications is illegal in most jurisdictions, including under 47 U.S.C. § 333 in the United States. You assume all responsibility for operating any radio function lawfully.

7. Assumption of Risk and Responsibility

You assume all responsibility and risk for your use of our products. Any illegal, unauthorized, negligent, or malicious use is solely your responsibility. HaleHound has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, how you use a product after it leaves our hands.

8. No Warranty

All products are sold AS-IS and AS-AVAILABLE, with no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Each unit is tested and verified functional before shipping. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer in your jurisdiction.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HaleHound shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, fines, penalties, legal costs, injury, or property damage, arising out of or relating to your purchase, use, or misuse of any product, whether based in contract, tort, strict liability, or any other theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to a product shall not exceed the amount you paid for that product.

10. Export Compliance

You are responsible for complying with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws. You represent that you are not located in, and will not export or re-export any product to, any country or party subject to United States or other applicable embargoes or trade restrictions, and that you are not a person or entity with whom dealing is prohibited under applicable law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless HaleHound LLC and its owners, members, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, fines, penalties, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use or misuse of any product, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.

12. Intellectual Property and Firmware

All site content, product designs, branding, and the HaleHound name and logo are the property of HaleHound and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Device firmware is provided for use with the hardware it is installed on and remains subject to its own applicable license terms. You may not resell, redistribute, or misrepresent our firmware, branding, or designs as your own.

13. Third-Party Names and Trademarks

Product descriptions may reference third-party companies, products, protocols, or standards for the sole purpose of describing interoperability, compatibility, or research context. All such names and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement by those owners, and HaleHound is not affiliated with them.

14. Orders, Pricing, and Payment

All prices are listed in the currency shown at checkout and are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where we suspect fraud or a violation of these Terms. Products are hand-built to order; please review the shipping timeframe listed on each product page.

15. Shipping

Shipping timeframes, tracking, and signature requirements are described in our Shipping Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

16. Returns and Refunds

Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and, where applicable, the Right of Withdrawal for eligible customers. Both are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted to this page, and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Your continued use of the site or purchase of products after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our products shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to another forum.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
